In general, learning languages does not only help improve cognitive skills. Many scientific studies mention that it strengthens memory and develops cognitive flexibility. It also helps people improve their social skills and understand different cultures. Learning English is important because it is a language widely used around the world, especially in academic, technological, and professional contexts. French is also important because it is spoken in many countries in Europe, Africa, and Canada, and it has a significant cultural influence.

Education plays a fundamental role in the development of people and society. Educational institutions not only transmit academic knowledge, but they also help to develop values, communication skills, and intercultural understanding. In order for these processes to be organized, schools use different tools that guide their pedagogical work and their educational project.  In Colombia, one of the most important tools is the Institutional Educational Project (PEI).
