In a country like Colombia, access to technological equipment should be mandatory for everyone because it could promote more dynamic learning environments. However, technology in education should be a reality in Colombia, but this is not always the case because there is social inequality and there are differences between urban and rural areas. Many students still do not have access to technological tools or stable internet connections.
Proposal: AI in Education in Colombia
If Colombia invested more in technology and internet access in remote areas, it would be possible to create an AI-based tutoring platform. This platform could have a differential approach that recognizes cultural differences and the different contexts of students, which could help motivate them to learn.
In addition, the system could recognize students’ educational levels and language abilities in order to offer activities according to their needs. In this way, teachers could identify learning difficulties more quickly and provide more effective support to students.
Today it is impossible to stay apart from technology; however, it is important to think about the reason for using it in a pedagogical context.
